I’m not exactly thrilled about our next Army assignment. The best part about it, though, is that the kids and I don’t have to move again this summer!
I wasn’t looking forward to another PCS and cross-country drive at all.
Last year’s PCS and drive from El Paso to Kansas City was the WORST!
It started with a move-out inspection that was much more involved then we ever expected, so we were later leaving than we planned.
Then the air conditioning went out in the van on one of the hottest days of the year…in the middle of Texas…one of the hottest states ever!
And to top it all off, we ended up in a terrible hail storm and had to pull off the road and pray that we would make it out unharmed.
When the kids asked it we were there yet, I was tempted to answer, “NO…no…I don’t think we’ll ever be there!”
Not only were they asking that annoying question…I was asking it myself.
But, bless their hearts! Even though our trip was tough, my kiddos were troopers. AND we eventually make it to our destination unscathed and smiling (mostly).
When I saw this kit by Paislee Press, and the “Are we there yet” word art, I knew it would be perfect do document this trip! Documenting our memories includes the fun times and the not so fun times like this seemingly never ending car ride.

Have you ever had a drive like that that seemed to be never ending where everyone in the car was asking “Are We There Yet”?
I’d love to hear all about it! (let’s share in the misery together!)
