This week has been busy and full. Instead of dreading and being discouraged by the busyness of this season, I’m trying to be thankful it.
There is much to be thankful for in this life.
We have a choice in how we view our days…we can see them as drudgery or we can see them as a great blessing.
I don’t have a natural bent towards seeing the positive. It’s easy for me to look at things with negativity. It’s easy for me to be discouraged and sad. Being thankful takes a lot of work for me, but the work is worth so worth it.
Here are the blessings that I am counting this week…
289. letters to Santa
290. the smile on Jenny’s face as she talks to Grandma
291. birthday party at the skating rink
292. taking friends to the Christmas concert at church
293. Sunday evening free
294. crafting for Christmas
295. still, quiet moments
296. Scholastic Warehouse Sale
297. ditching a full gym for coffee drive-thru
298. last day of co-op for the year
299. holding a newborn baby
300. Christmas cards from friends near and far
301. Will’s “cool” look
302. new haircut
303. finishing out our first semester of school and looking forward to a break
304. snow flurries
Every time I begin searching for blesssings and writing them down, naming and counting them, I find more and more. That is no accident. Thankfulness begets more thankfulness. When we live our lives purposefully being thankful for the blessings that abound, we find that they abound all the more.
