It is doable to travel to Disneyland from where we live in one long day of travel. While it is doable, we don’t find that kind of travel very enjoyable, so we decided to break the trip up into two shorter, more relaxed travel days.
Here are a few pictures (all taken with our iPhones) from our first day of travel.
The excitement was at an all time high this morning as I changed our countdown to reflect that today was the day…we were finally leaving for Disney!
See those pink headphones Jenny’s wearing? Best purchase ever!!! We had the quietest trip we’ve ever! My husband and I were actually able to carry on pleasant conversations with one another.
I think this may be the first time that Jenny’s used headphones and she was so funny with them! Because she couldn’t hear with them over her ears, she talked to us ten times louder than usual.
Will enjoyed watching old episodes of The Hardy Boys that we have on DVD. He enjoys reading the books and was excited to watch these mysteries as we traveled.
EA’s beloved doll Marco accompanies us on every trip we take. Poor girl has a never ending bad hair day, but she is loved fiercely.
As usual, we stopped at McDonald’s for lunch. When we pulled into the parking lot, we realized that it was the exact same McDonald’s that we stopped at for lunch two years ago on our list trip to Disney.
There is comfort in routine, isn’t there?
Later this afternoon we stopped at Target to walk around and grab some snacks. Target is a great place to stop and walk around when the road gets monotonous.
Those two girls give us so much joy!
I love the cactus in Arizona…God is such a masterful creator!
Hello Phoenix! We’ll be saying a quick goodbye in the morning and continuing our journey to the Happiest Place on Earth.
