Today was our second day of travel. We started out from Phoenix early(ish) this morning and arrived at our destination this afternoon. It rained for most of the day and it was actually nice to experience a light, steady rain. It’s become such a novelty for us after living in El Paso for over two years.
I was all set to travel with a hot cup of tea from our hotel in Phoenix.
There is absolutely nothing between Phoenix and the outskirts of LA, so there was lots of snacking going on…lots and lots of snacking and mindless eating. Good thing I brought along semi-healthy snacks.
The landscape in California is so different from what we’re used to in El Paso.
Jenny looked up from the movie she was watching and said, “Mommy, look at the mountains!!! They are SO GREEN!”
We stopped for lunch at In N Out Burger just a few blocks from the Disneyland Resort. These are the best burgers!
After getting settled in our room, we went out to explore Downtown Disney, taking a bit of a stroll through the Grand Californian where we ran into our first character, the kid from UP! The kids had a blast meeting him. They even earned a “Wilderness Explorer Expert” badge after reciting a secret pledge.
We’re all getting settled in for the night with lots of excitement and anticipation for tomorrow!
