I grew up frequenting the “rides” at the Pavillion at Myrtle Beach every summer.
I loved riding all of the rides, especially the fast moving roller coasters.
It was fun to experience the thrill of riding the amusement park rides at Disneyland last week.
The first ride we all went on was Pinocchio and it set us off to a rocky start…it scared Will and Jenny with the dark scenes from the movie. We were able to go on “It’s a Small World” shortly afterwards and set things right again.
My girls rode (and enjoyed) many rides during our stay. Given the option, they always chose to ride together…they truly are best friends! What a blessing it must be to have a best friend to truly live life right by your side.
This small roller coaster was their first introduction to roller coasters. They went on this all by themselves and sat in the very first row of the very first car…yikes! I have to admit to being a little nervous for them, but they got off proclaiming it to be “AWESOME” and “AMAZING”!!
After that, they were eager to ride Splash Mountain with me. Despite the looks on their faces here, they absolutely loved the thrill of this ride!
MC had her eyes on the California Screamin’ roller coaster the entire time, but we thought that it would be too much for her. I was able to ride it early Wednesday morning and it wasn’t nearly as bad as I feared, so Keith agreed to let her ride with me. She smiled and screamed the entire time the roller coaster was moving. It was a highlight of our stay at Disneyland for her!
Jenny became quite the fan of rides. As soon as we disembarked from one ride she would look at me and ask, “What we gonna ride next, Mommy?” Her favorites were the slow moving preschool geared rides in the Bug’s Land area of California Adventure. She also really enjoyed the teacups.
There were several rides that we were able to go on as a family. One of those was the ferris wheel, named the “Wheel of Fun”.
Bless my husband’s heart, he is not a fan of heights and, thus, does not share my love of amusement park rides. He decided that he could handle the ferris wheel and we all loaded into a car together. Unfortunately, this ferris wheel moved and rocked much more than even I expected. He was such a good sport about it, though, and really took one for the team with an awesome attitude!
These are just a few of the rides that we were able to get pictures on…some of our other favorites were the teacups (of course!), It’s a Small World, Star Tours, and Soarin’ Over California.
Do you enjoy riding amusement park rides?
Do you have a favorite ride at Disney?

I had to laugh at your comment about Keith’s reluctance to go on the roller coaster rides! :-). He gets it honestly….his sister doesn’t like them either! :-). I loved all the posts about your wonderful trip to Disney. Even though I don’t like roller coaster rides, one of my very favorite rides is Splash Mountain! Love that ride! I loved all the pictures of the children…I will have to call soon so I can talk to them about their trip. Love you all!

I love fast roller coasters. I have yet to ride California Screamin. I was too chicken the last time I went to Disneyland.
