{one} swimming
We’ve been doing lots of swimming this week. More than we have all summer. More than we have the past several summers.
Friends from church invited us over to their home for lunch and swimming at their neighborhood pool on Sunday afternoon. We had a blast!!! My kids are not experienced swimmers and can be a little nervous in the water (so can I) and our friends were so gracious with all of us.
We were invited back this week so we can swim some more and they are getting more and more comfortable in the water and even improving their swimming skills.
{two} boy mom
One day this week my very typical boy picked up a dead worm on the sidewalk. He says, “Look, mommy, a worm!!!” And then he asked me if I wanted to touch it. Ummm…NO!!!
Do you see that smile on his face? He was completely pleased with himself!
{three} flowers
I painted this pallet for the 4th of July. And then we decided that I needed some flowers with red-ish looking blooms to go along with it on the porch.
These blooms are so beautiful and seeing them brings happiness to my days! I’ve never been a flower person and I definitely don’t have a green thumb, so the joy these flowers are giving me were a pleasant surprise.
{four} thank you ann taylor
Most of my wardrobe with the exception of Stitch Fix wins comes from Ann Taylor Loft. It’s my go-to super reliable place for shopping.
This week I received a couple nice gifts from Ann Taylor, a birthday gift card and reward money. I think I’ll treat myself to something fun for the beginning of school.
{five} hand lettering
I am motivated to begin practicing hand lettering again. My skills can use a TON of improvement, but this is a creative outlet that I am looking forward to practicing each day.
In fact as soon as I finish writing this, I’m going to print out the Art + Lettering Challenge Prompts at Dawn Nicole Designs. If you’re interested in trying out hand lettering for yourself, here are 10+ Hand Lettering Tutorials also by Dawn Nicole Designs.
I hope you have a great weekend! I’m looking forward to a quiet Saturday filled with lots of scrapbooking tomorrow!
