I am so excited to have Arianna from Arianna Knows Best guest posting today about finding gifts for your husband that you can enjoy, too!
I love this time of year, especially being about to pick out gifts for the special people in my life. When I pick gifts for my husband, I often incorporate the notion of secretly thinking for myself. I always make sure to get him a gift he’ll love, but I try to make sure that I’m going to get something out of that gift as well! Here are a few ideas I’ve used in the past:
1. Fitness for the New Year
If your husband or boyfriend has been spending too much time doing arm curls on the couch instead of actually participating in a sport, consider giving him a fitness membership for two. You can enjoy getting fit together and renew that old spark in your relationship. If you already belong to a gym, consider signing the two of you up for a six-week personal training session!
2. Monthly Fun All Year Round
If you both like surprises, consider getting your man an “of-the-month membership”. Of course, it doesn’t have to be wine. You can find taster’s clubs for several different items. This gift that keeps on giving will bring a new product to your door each month throughout the year. The arrival of new goods each month will result in fresh experiences and more quality time together!
3. Holiday Dinner Reservations
If you’ve been waiting for your significant other to finally make reservations and take you to that fancy new restaurant, why not take some initiative and make those reservations yourself? Give him the gift of a night out with you. He’ll enjoy the excursion, and you’ll finally be able to tell your friends about your evening at that exclusive establishment!
4. Holiday Warmth on the Beach
The holidays may warm your heart, but it might take a trip down south to be literally warm any time in December. Why not book a trip for two to Miami? Picture enjoying Christmas or New Year’s Day with your toes in white sand on a secluded beach. Isn’t it time you enjoyed a different kind of white Christmas?
5. Dress Your Man like a GQ Model
Have you been wishing your significant other would update his wardrobe? Go to Saks Fifth Avenue or Bloomingdales and get him some new threads. Sneak a peek in his closet for his current sizes. Then be sure to shower him with compliments on his new appearance. Sometimes all a man needs is a little encouragement to keep looking and dressing his best!
The gifts you give this holiday season don’t have to be selfless acts of love. There’s some virtue to enlightened self-interest. When you give your man a gift that you can also enjoy, both of you will be happy. It’s ok to once in a while start shopping with your own interests at heart.
