As is the case with typical Mondays, today hasn’t gotten off to the best start.
MC woke up sick at 3 am.
I rushed around to get everyone out the door by 7:45 this morning only to take a needless trip on post and then back home. An appointment was rescheduled for next week.
And that was all before 9 am!
But our weekend was absolutely glorious…I want to hold on to it.
On Friday morning I finally got an iPhone!!!
I have wanted one ever since we returned to the States from Germany about three years ago, but I couldn’t justify the cost, so we went with a cheaper cell phone and I’ve waited until the time was right to get an iPhone. We planned to switch carriers when our contract ended in August, but then T-mobile announced it would be carrying the iPhone5 and we went with it!! I’m super excited to have something that I have waited so long for!
We spent Friday afternoon crafting “super hero” masks and t-shirts. Just because. We also ordered delivery pizza and watched a super hero movie together.
On Saturday Keith and Will went on a hike had a picnic lunch on the mountain. Will needed some time with his Daddy who has been working long hours. We’ve all been missing him!
I took the big girls out for ice cream cones on Saturday afternoon. They chose them as their reward for filling up their “Cool Bean” chore jars about a week ago.
And then on Saturday evening and at both Sunday morning services EA and MC were in a program showcasing the scripture verses they’ve learned in Children’s Church this year.
Jenny has started to let me put her hair up in little ponytails and pigtails…I could fall over from all of the cuteness!!
I spent yesterday afternoon (as I aim to do every Sunday afternoon) working on lesson plans for the week. We almost never accomplish everything I plan because life just happens. Like MC being sick today. But I so love having a plan I place and I actually look forward to sitting down and planning out our week on Sunday afternoons.
Even though today hasn’t gotten off to the best start I am thankful for the promise of a new week.
I was able to spend some needed time in God’s Word before the craziness of the day began. This time helped me to get through the crazies…and will continue to help as I’m sure they’re not over.
There is much that I am looking forward to saying “hello” to this week.
Such as…
tonight’s dinner of Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas…a favorite! (tonight is the only night this week we’ll all be able to eat dinner together)
swimming lessons for the kids…I’m seeing such improvement
PWOC fellowship and Bible Study
date night with Keith on Wednesday while the kids are at AWANA…we only have three of these left!
a scrap date with a friend
coffee with fellow Chaplain wives
What are you looking forward to this week?
