Today was a full, full day of running errands and getting stuff done. I am so proud of what we were able to accomplish today.
We went into Kansas City to a laundromat I found while we were in the hotel to catch up on laundry. Then we had lunch and began tackling a long to-do list.
We picked out and purchased a mattress for Keith and I (which was delivered tonight…WOOHOO!!!), we picked out bedding for the older girls, and purchased a lawn mower for Keith to do our little yard.
On our way home we rewarded ourselves with a visit to Sonic for Happy Hour drinks (slushes for the kids and Diet Cokes for Keith and I). Keith decided to take us all by a little spot he found in Leavenworth yesterday for rail fanning.
Jenny has her daddy’s love for trains and gets so excited whenever she sees one. Her entire face lit up when we heard a train coming by this afternoon while sitting and drinking our Sonic drinks.
We all enjoyed watching this train pass by, but not more than Keith and Jenny!
After watching two trains pass by, we went on a little walk through this beautiful park.
I love finding new places to visit when we move to a new location. It makes things fresh and exciting.
Sometimes being a military spouse with constant moves wears me down. There is so much stress and heartache that comes with each move.
But then I am reminded of what a privilege it is for my family to be able so experience the country and appreciate it through living in so many different areas of it.
It is days like today and visiting places like Leavenworth Landing that help me to see the blessings in the midst of what could be a very stressful time.
