Paper Bag Puppets

by Monica on January 26, 2010

MC received a boxed craft set for Christmas to make Paper Bag Puppets.

It came with materials to make five different animal puppets.

This was a fun after quiet time craft activity for all of us. I had to help Will a bit more with the gluing and placing pieces in the right places, but the girls were pretty much able to do it all on their own.

EA made an elephant…her favorite animal.

That’s the best smile I could get from her….I asked her not to close her eyes but she said, “But, Mommy, this is how I smile!” Who can argue with that??

MC made a spotted frog…a very spotted frog!

And Will was able to have a blast with the last step…placing the stickers all over his cow puppet!

Actually, the poor cow ended up with a mostly black underbelly rather than black spots all over…but that’s the joy of letting kids be creative, isn’t it?

This looks awesome! They obviously had a great time and it let them be creative and independent, yet it wasn’t an out of control mess. Very nice!!

Looks like they had a great time. I love crafty gifts! Will did a great job. I think he was following MC’s lead with all of the spots. :-)

Very cute! And don’t you have a puppet theater for shows with those puppets? :) We used a big moving box for a few weeks after we moved into the house. I simply cut a door and a hole for the stage and they were off. Too bad the box didn’t stand up to 6 kids trying to do a show all at once. But they had a blast while it lasted!
