When we first moved into our home, my teenaged cousin came to stay with us for a week. She was a huge help with the kids while I unpacked boxes.
Every day when my little ones went to quiet time, she turned on Disney and watched Good Luck Charlie. It was a really cute show.
One day while she was watching, my husband noticed the chalk board refrigerator the family in the show had. It was marked up with their menu, shopping list and a chore chart.
I responded that I could make something similar for our refrigerator.
On my next trip to Target, I picked up adhesive backed chalkboard vinyl. I cut this to size to fit on the freezer door of our refrigerator.
I had been writing our menu out on the top portion of this for a few weeks, but I got lax on writing it out because I had to erase the whole thing every time. Then it occurred to me that it would make it easier to make vinyl lettered “Menu” at the top and days of the week since these don’t change.
I measured the size I needed and made the letters using my Silhouette cameo cutting machine.
After cutting, I assembled the “menu” title and days of the week on the chalkboard vinyl on our refrigerator. Now, all I have to do is erase each week’s menu when it’s completed and replace it with the new one.
We all love having our menu written out on the refrigerator. It lets everyone know what to expect each day and it keeps me more accountable to sticking to it! It also helps with knowing what needs to be prepared in advance.

such a cute idea! I write mine up on google calendar, but sometime I like to actually see it in writing on my fridge… this is a cute way to do that. I love it!

This is cute! Good Luck Charlie is one of Noah’s favorite shows but I have never noticed that board on their fridge! Good watching on your hubby’s part.
