I’ve been hearing and reading a lot of reviews of Jessica Turner’s book Fringe Hours. I haven’t read it yet, but I fully get the concept. It’s about using the fringe hours of your day to take care of yourself as a mother.
I use the fringe hours of my day to do things like blog, read, and scrapbook.
This morning I scrapped this page about a day that was turned around. Actually, it’s about how yesterday was turned around.
While the rest of the country (so many of you) is suffering from the effects of winter…snow, ice, and freezing temperatures, we are here in El Paso enjoying beautiful sunshine and gloriously warm temperatures. Yesterday afternoon the kids were outside as soon as our school day was over.
They had a grand time running around and playing for hours together.
I went out to take a quick picture of my two girls. They are such an incredible blessing to me. These girls are lights! They always have a smile on their faces. They are so quick to forgive.
Yesterday morning was hard…school had a rough start…by mid-morning MC was declaring the day a wash…it was a bad day and was condemned to be a bad day in her mind.
I told her it didn’t have to be a bad day…days can be turned around and resurrected.
So, that’s what we did.
We moved on from our bad start and resurrected the day.
By the afternoon everyone was feeling so much better. There were smiles on our faces and the kids were running around the backyard in the warm sunshine.
Today I am so thankful for resurrected days.
