I missed posting layout for Scrapbook Saturday last week and this week I got all caught up on the Month of Challenges at The Lilypad, so I have lots of layouts to share with you today.
Let’s get started…
Cat Nap
This layout was for the “imperfect photo” challenge. I cropped the photo to a square and added a white frame around it.
Our cat, Cupcake, loves to cuddle in front of the fire. She especially loves to sit with Keith as he’s reading comics or relaxing.
Joy
This was for the detailed template challenge.
These two girls of mine bring so much joy into the life of our family. The photo I used was taken on Thanksgiving this year and the colors and soft feel of it was just perfect with the colors in the kit I used.
My Soul is Happy
This layout was for a scraplift challenge to scrap lift a layout from the creative team gallery at The Lilypad.
I chose to scraplift this layout:
I especially loved the grid of four squares and I used that as a jumping off point for composing my layout. I found these photos of me with the girls taken the fall after we moved to Ft. Campbell in Kentucky.
Short Hike
Here’s another layout from our days at Ft. Campbell with these two precious girls! We took them on a short hike the day before Will was born…can you believe that??!! I was so hugely pregnant and ended up carrying EA during most of our hike.
The layout was for the quick page challenge. I hardly ever use quick pages, but it was a quick layout to do and I’m really happy with how it turned out.
Morning Coffee
This layout was for the puppet warp challenge. Puppet warp was a new technique I’ve been wanting to try in Photoshop. Using puppet warp, I was able to twist the ribbon around so that it fit perfectly with the photo and other elements on the page. This is definitely something that I’ll be using a lot more.
Fall Days
This layout was for the do-over challenge. The challenge was to do-over a past layout. I love doing this because my first layouts were pretty horrid! I chose to re-do this layout, which was one of my very first from 2006.
Take a look at this:
Pretty bad, huh? But, we all have to start somewhere! I think I had just learned to use Photoshop Elements when I created this layout.
The newer one is really more my style these days and is so much brighter!!! I was also able to fit in some journaling on the newer layout as I’m really learning the importance of journaling on my layotus.
Right Now
This was for the scrap a list challenge. I used a journaling card included in Start Here by Sara Gleason to scrap a list of things going on right now. I’m not a big list maker, so this was really a challenge for me, but it was a good exercise to write out a list and think through some of these things.
Come Back
The challenge for this layout was to tell a story through photos and specifically to use a photo showing more of the background with another of a closer crop. I was so excited to tell the story of Keith’s “come back” race last weekend with this layout.
Snow Much Fun
This was for the freestyle challenge which is always a real challenge for me. I tend to keep my layouts more simple, but with freestyle you load as much as possible on the layout and have lots of clusters and elements filling the page.
This photo is of my girls in the snow when we lived in Germany. We had lots of snow there!!
Happiness
This was for the point and shoot challenge. I used my phone camera to take some quick point and shoot photos of the kids playing outside this week and scrapped this layout shortly after.
So Much to Smile About
This is one of my favorites, using a “clean and simple” template by Paislee Press.
Eat Sleep Swim
The challenge for this layout was to scrap lift a paper layout in the hybrid gallery at The Lilypad into a digital layout. I chose to lift this gorgeous hybrid layout by my friend Kelly:
I love scrap lifting paper layouts. It really gives me a chance to work on my shadows and making them look more realistic.
Wonderful You
This was for the mood board inspiration challenge. Here’s the mood board I used as inspiration:
I used the grid design and the super bright colors here as my inspiration for the layout above.
This photo of EA is so typical of her at two years old. She was so attached to her paci and lovey which is in the crook of her arm. I love looking back at photos of my children when they were so small and remembering what they were like.
Each of these layouts are linked to my gallery at The Lilypad where you can see the credits listed.
Thanks for joining me for another Scrapbook Saturday!
