Now that I’m getting back into a routines I’m finding more time for scrapbooking. It is one of my goals for the next year to spend more time with scrapbooking. Documenting our everyday through memory keeping is truly important to my family and I.
This week I have three layout to share with you.
Be Bold
One of my favorite ways to use templates smaller than 12 x 12 is to put them on a solid 12 x 12 background with some type of mixed media (paint, glitter, or scribbles) behind it. That’s what I did with this layout featuring photos of my kids and a friend playing with sidewalk chalk.

I created this layout for the template challenge at The Lilypad. I’m going to attempt to complete all seven monthly challenges. These are great for stretching my creativity!
Red, White and Blue Family
For the next six weeks The Lilypad (my favorite digital scrapbooking store) is hosting Summer School where they will be exploring a topic in depth each week. There are also challenges to go along with these topics. This week’s topic was using blending modes, masks and brushes. This was my layout for this week’s challenge. I had so much fun playing with blending modes on this. I blended two background papers and my photo to make the background of this layout. I also had fun clustering and creating borders around the page of this 4th of July layout.
I’m excited to tackle some more challenges in this coming week and to begin catching up on this year’s Project Life layouts. Hopefully I’ll have some to share with you on Tuesday.
