I try not to post more than once a day, but today I had a scheduled post for The Silhouette Challenge AND we had such a good weekend that I couldn’t not share that with you as well. So, I hope you’ll forgive me for this day of two posts going up and out to you.
We really did have a fantastic family weekend!
On Saturday we decided on the spur of the moment to head downtown Leavenworth to check out some shops. They were having an annual sidewalk sale and we had a blast finding treasures and exploring our little town.
One booth in the Leavenworth Antique Mall was FULL of Hot Wheels cars…Will was a stoked little boy!
By the time we finished exploring the shops, we were all famished, so we decided to eat at nearby Homer’s Drive-in for lunch and I’m so glad we did!!
The kids had smiley face fries with their food…so fun!
On Sunday we had plans to visit Lenexa Baptist Church for worship. It has been over a month since we’ve been in church and I have missed it so much!!
This is how Will came downstairs “all ready” for church.
Oh, y’all….he was a hilarious mess! And he couldn’t understand why I immediately started laughing!
I got him all fixed up before we left the house for our drive to Lenexa.
We were completely blown away by this church!
It felt like home from the moment we stepped out of the car. We were greeted warmly by so many people and shown incredible hospitality.
The music in worship was just what we needed…I seriously smiled and cried happy tears through the entire service.
They had a visiting evangelist delivering the message yesterday morning and the gospel was presented clearly and unapologetically.
Keith looked over at me during the invitation and mouthed, “Do you want to join?” and I couldn’t say YES fast enough! We went forward as a family to become members of our new church family. I am in awe of how God has provided so well for us and for one of the deepest needs and desires of my heart.
We went to eat at Bob Evans after church and then browsed around Cabelas to walk off our delicious meal. While there, Keith and I took a selfie with the bison and a tree growing out of my head.
Sunday afternoon naps are the best, aren’t they?
Cupcake sure thinks so!
How was your weekend?
