that's pretty good though for a man to ask that - at least he knew how one type of twins is formed. I got the "are they maternal or fraternal?" question once. The one I hate the most is who was born first or who is older. I don't want anyone to treat them differently because of a perception. So I've taken to answering "they are identical twins so they are exactly the same age (conception occurred at only one moment in time)" If nothing else, they don't understand what my subtle point is and it stops the questions.

Since Nathan and Rachel are 12 mos. apart, I get the Twin question EVERYTIME we are out in public. Esp. now that Rachel (the younger one) is bigger than Nathan. However, no one has yet to comment on my eggs or my marital status. :) People are STRANGE sometimes, aren't they????

Most people say that The Girl really looks like her father and I agree. We were out one night shortly before The Boy was born and I was very Pregnant and I started getting the usual questions form strangers. I was constantly being interrupted by The Girl doing normal bores preschooler things like jumping on the benches or trying to climb on the potted plants. Eventually The Husband grabbed her and held her on his lap so I was pretty sure it was clear the three of us were together... The woman who was asking me the usual baby questions stops and asks if I was "on good terms with the father." I said, "yes... my husband and I quite happy with each other." She gives me an unconvinced look and said "your husband..."

People never cease to amaze me! When my daughter was 9 mo she got a helmet that she had to wear for 6 mo for plagiocephaly (ie: her head was flat as a pancake.) Usually people were ok with it, but once I had an older lady come up to us in the grocery store and (with that squeaky baby voice people use) say, "Oooh, did your mama drop you on your head?" Nice.

My niece has a cochlear implant and it has a little disc that magnets to the back of her head. They once had someone at a store ask if she was wearing a wire tap! What in the world??

You win! The "worst" I keep getting is folks asking who is older (we don't use that terminology), and insiting that it is Miss M because she is bigger, then arguing with me about them being twins. As if I don't know whether or not I had 2 children in me at once!

That is crazy! I would have been speechless. People never cease to surprise me. I was out with my infant daughter once, with a pink blanket on her and someone said, "What a sweet boy." I corrected her and she then said, "I saw the pink, but I just knew it was a boy."

ummm...... no
