….and I’m not crying at all, but I could if I wanted to! And I guess that’s all that really matters, right?
If you’re stopping by to visit from the Ultimate Blog Party 2009, HELLO and WELCOME to Daily Dwelling!
Hello and Welcome to Daily Dwelling even if you’re not stopping by from the Blog Party, but if that’s the case, take the time to drop by 5 Minutes for Mom to see some really awesome blogs this week!
I’m Monica and Daily Dwelling has become very near and dear to my heart. It is my place to share my life with my husband, family and friends that are near and far away, and with you….the world otherwise known as the internet.
DailyDwelling is based on the verse Phillipians 4:8
Finally, bretheren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
So, that’s what I’m doing here….dwelling on these things. You can read more about the history and mision of DailyDwelling here.
First and foremost, I am a Child of God. I am striving to live my life to honor Him and to be the wife, mother and friend that he has called me to be. I enjoy writing small devotions and thoughts about spiritual topics. I would like to do this more, but it requires more brain action than I can give too often. By the end of the day, which is usually when I write, my brain is often fried!
I have been married for almost nine years to Chaplain Andrews. He is an Army chaplain currently deployed to Iraq for the second time. That makes me the wife of a Army Chaplain and I have a little something to say about that. I met Keith during my senior year in college at church and the rest was history! You can read all about our Love Story, his proposal, and our wedding. He just returned back to Iraq after spending almost three weeks at home during his mid-tour leave. We had an incredible time reuniting and reconnecting after ten months apart. I love him more with each passing day.
We have three children who’s antics take up most of the space on this blog. EA and MC are four year old twins. They are so much fun. I am starting to homeschool them and we enjoy reading all the books in our Sonlight curriculum. Will is a very active almost two year old. He stays busy giving me a run for my money and trying to keep up with his two older sisters. I enjoy my life as a Stay-at-Home Mom. It is the life I have gladly chosen. Even though there are daily ups and downs, it’s never ever boring around here!
We are stationed overseas in Germany. It probaly sounds more exciting that it really is. It’s just home to us. I do miss all of my family and friends in the United States and am so thankful for the way that DailyDwelling helps me keep up with them and them with us!
I enjoying crafts, especially digital scrapbooking, although I don’t have enough time for it. Hmmm….I can’t remember when the last time was that I completed a layout. But I do enjoy it!
I’ve also recently learned how to make pendants from Scrabble tiles and glass tiles. In fact, I am giving away a set of personalized, handmade scrabble and glass tiles as part of the Blog Party this week. There are over two hundred prizes being offered!
Some of my favorites are:
#28, Child’s Apron
#85, a Decorative Primitive Style Pillow
#50, $50 gift certificate to Paperlicious
#68, $30 gift certificate to Christian Book Distributors (I love to read!!)
#79, $30 gift certificate to Cute Clips and More
But, really….I’d be more than happy with anything on their wonderful list of prizes.
So, again…..Welcome!
Take your time and look around. I hope you like it here as much as I do. And if you do, please feel free to subscribe. You can to this by clicking on the feedburner icon. I am pretty new to the blog world but I am having a great time at the Blog Party. Blessings to you and your family. My husband travels and I want to pull my hair out after 3 or 4 days without him. I can’t image 10 months of separation. I have no doubt that the Lord is taking care of you and your “bouncing boys”. I hope you are reunited again soon.
Hi Monica! It’s great to meet you! I’m part of UBP too! Your kids are soo cute! And your blog looks like lots of fun, and interesting too! I look forward to getting to know you.
Army chaplain’s wife? Sounds neat. We were a military family for the first 10 years of marriage. challenging. I tell about it in my organizing story. So sad that your sweetheart has to be in IRAQ so much! That’s the hard part of military life. Will was never deployed the whole time we were in–which is very rare. He had a few long TDYs, but nothing major.

Nice to meet you!
Talk about a party!
I’m quite intrigued and am learning how to get around!
Just stopping by from 5minutes for moms blog party!
Thanks for hosting a blog party! My father is a United Methodist minister and my youngest brother is currently in seminary. While we were not in the Army, we experienced many of the things you referred to in your Wife of an Army Chaplain post. My mom, too, was called to serve God by honoring and assisting my dad. She has done so faithfully for over 40 years.
As a child of a minister, I was born into the ministry. There were many times my dad was not home for dinner because he was at a hospital, counseling someone, at a meeting, or doing some other church-related activity. Much of the responsibility of child-rearing fell on my mom’s shoulders. As a parent myself, I respect and admire her for the sacrifices she made for us, my father, and for God.
I’m sure your challenges are even greater since your family is in the military. What an incredible way to serve God and to witness to others!
I look forward to getting to know you better.

Hey, stopping by from the UBP. Sending up a prayer for your husband in Iraq. I can’t imagine how tough that must be. You are a strong woman! I read your post about ground turkey. You should also try Turkey Kielbasa. It is a delicious substitute. My husband had no idea it was turkey until I told him!

Hello – here on the party route – still trying to meet up with all the blogs – have been to 250+ so far – last day!
Hi from the blog party! We’re also a military family and my husband is almost 2 months in of a 12-month deployment to Afghanistan. Your husband was gone for 10 months already before he came home on mid-tour? How long is his deployment for? I pray the time passes quickly – for the both of us!
