As this year is drawing to a close, I’m doing a lot of thinking and planning for our upcoming year. Along with that, I’m making plans for this blog and for how I want my writing and posting to look in 2015. Mostly, I want to be more consistent in writing and posting. I want to be more personal, too. It has become too easy over the last several months to neglect writing for putting up scrapbook pages. I love scrapbooking and sharing that creative work with you, but I also want this to be a place for writing and reflecting.
One way I intend to accomplish my goal of posting more consistently is to make a schedule. As part of the schedule I’ve made (in my head at this point) I’ll be posting a “Hello….” post on Mondays to welcome a new week with a fresh, new perspective. Instead of waiting on the New Year to start, I decided to go ahead and begin posting today by saying Hello to Christmas Week!
This weekend we went out to see the Christmas lights around town. Believe it or not, this is our first time intentionally going out to visit Christmas lights as a family and I loved it so much!!
Our first stop was to visit the El Paso Christmas Light Show at the Fred Loya house. This show won ABC’s Great Christmas Light Fight 2014, so it was a must see!
Hello amazing Christmas lights show!
Hello little ones amazed at all there is to see!
After the lights show we drove through a neighborhood in El Paso that is known for the lights and decorations that are on almost ever single home.
Hello Eastridge!
Hello beauty in lights
Hello Christmas spirit displayed for all to see.
Hello coming home to a cup of hot chocolate.
Hello wrapped Christmas presents under our tree!
This is the first year that I’ve gotten all of our presents wrapped and placed under the tree BEFORE Christmas Eve. Usually I’m putting a late night-er on Christmas Eve to get it all done.
Hello to being able to relax and enjoy the last few days before Christmas without this task weighing me down.
Hello beautifully wrapped packages filled with gifts of love.
Hello new day and new starts!
Hello knowing that each day is new and fresh and if I look at it in that way, there is so much potential in the future!
There is forgiveness for hurts and disappointments, there is love and life and so much joy!
Today is the beginning of anything I want and I want so very much!
I am grateful for new days and the new beginnings that exist within them.
And here are some other hellos I’m looking forward to this week…
Hello celebrating our Savior’s birth!
Hello family Christmas party.
Hello family time together.
Hello baking Christmas treats.
Hello homemade cinnamon rolls.
Hello unwrapping and discovering.
Hello gift giving and receiving.
Hello quiet moments.
Hello peace and rest.
What are you saying hello to this week?
Barbie says
Hello Monica! I will soon be saying hello to a blogging break as I step away to refocus and refuel after a challenging season. Merry Christmas!
