What mighty praise, O God, belongs to you in Zion.
We will fulfill our vows to you,
for you answer our prayers.
All of us must come to you.
Though we are overwhelmed by our sins,
you forgive them all.
What joy for those you choose to bring near,
those who live in your holy courts.
What festivities await us inside your holy Temple.
– Psalm 65:1-4
I want to thank each of you for your prayers for my brother-in-law, Darryl over the last few months.
He passed away this morning and is now in heaven, completely at peace and free of pain.
We have learned much as a family during this time about prayer and faith.
Darryl lived a life of unwavering faith and made a huge impact on many lives.
Please continue to pray for his family and friends during this time.

Oh Monica. I’m so, so sorry to hear this. That happened so fast! That just knocks the breath right out of me. We buried Lance’s aunt last weekend (cancer) and are praying for MY aunt’s last days and weeks to be as pain free as possible (cancer). And his mom has been battling it for nearly 6 years now. I feel very surrounded by that ugly disease right now. So thankful that God makes all things new, but still hate to see friends and family suffer.

Monica, I’m so sorry. I will keep you all in my prayers. It is a huge comfort for you knowing that he is in heaven, but that does not eliminate the grief.
That’s a great photo you posted. Thanks for sharing the sad news with us.

Oh Monica – to see that picture breaks my heart. I know that he is in a place beyond amazing and he knows no more pain, but I am praying for your family as you manage the days ahead. My sis in love died at just 34 of breast cancer. I know only too well what you are all going through.

I had sadly been expecting every caring bridge update in my inbox these last few days to contain this news. I am glad for Darryl, that his suffering is over and that he is celebrating TRUE LIFE in the very presence of Jesus– however, my heart breaks for Kay, Connie Jo and Ray, Keith, and Rachel– as well as the rest of the family. Please know I am praying over all the logistics of traveling so all the family can be together, for Kay as she makes final arrangements, and for all of you as your grieve your loss and heaven’s gain. Love your guts, sweet friend!

Thankful he is without pain and in heaven with Jesus but sad for all those on earth who will miss him dearly.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I pray you guys and his sweet family may all be lifted up and filled with peace and comfort.
Maggie says
I followed his illness and grew the prayer chain within my own family… and cried to hear he lost his fight to remain here on earth with his loved ones. I’m sorry for all of you, knowing you’ll miss him. But Darryl is free of the cancer and pain and sorrow now and, as my daughter said of our recent loss of my Dad, you can’t stay sad for long when you know he’s got a good body and he’s up in heaven playing [football] with his [High School] friends. He’s happy now.”

((hugs and prayers))
Sometimes there are no words to adequately express the intended compassion and encouragement via the internet. Just know that I am praying for you, your husband, and your family – and I would hug you if I were physically there.
