A few weeks ago, I noticed that Rice Krispies cereal was on sale so I picked up a box {or two} with a plan to make Rice Krispie treats with the kids.
They are always such a fun and tasty treat!
As we were getting ready to make our treats, I decided to spice it up a bit and add sprinkles to them. After the treats cooled in the pan, I also used a round cookie cutter to cut them out instead of just cutting them into squares. This really make our afternoon snack time a little extra special.
When I’m working in the kitchen with little helpers it helps if I assign everyone a specific job to do.
MC’s job was to pour the marshmallows into the pan after the butter melted.
Will’s job was to pour in the cereal.
EA’s job was to add in the sprinkles.
Everyone was pleased with their assigned job and everyone had a hand in making our afternoon treats!
After saving a couple to put into my husband’s lunch the next day, we wrapped and bagged up our extras and took them over to our neighbors.
