I just posted a this picture on instagram along with a list of five random things (on my desk) that I’m loving right now.
Apparently, I’m in a very random mood…there’s a lot of random things on my mind, so that’s what you’re getting.
I bought a bottle of Starbucks Iced Coffee with my groceries last week and it has been the best afternoon treat for myself!! I’ve simply poured it over ice in a tumbler with a splash of half and half, a tiny bit of truvia and a small squeeze of Hershey’s chocolate.
It’s a good thing that I’ve had something to treat myself with because this has been an really crazy week for us! I think everyone has had a little mini-breakdown at some point during the week.
We’re starting our new homeschool year on Monday and I am SO very ready!!! I need school to being to get some structure built back into our days. Also, homeschool is going to keep us busy and, thus, the time moving faster. It feels as if starting school will in a way help being Keith back sooner. All the have to do is get through the school year then we can look forward to a reunion. The kids and I went shopping for school supplies yesterday and had a special lunch out, too. It was a fun day for us all! You can expect some upcoming homeschool posts on our curriculum this school year and some of our routines for this homeschool year.
Also on Monday morning I’m looking forward to beginning the Good Morning Girls study of the book of James. I’m really looking forward to this. I’ve been using the She Reads Truth devotional app, which I still love, but I’m ready to do more of my own study as opposed to reading someone else’s thoughts.
One thing I’ve really been struggling with the past few weeks is getting to bed early. I have this struggle every time Keith is away, but I’m having a harder time working my way back into a better routine with going to bed early, and thus, getting up earlier in the morning as well. To help with this I’m going to stop media consumption other than reading a book after 9 o’clock. My goal is to be in the bed by 9 and lights out by 10. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Along with that I’m changing my regular Monday post to a “Monday Motivation” post that will include my meal plan for the week along with weekly goals. I really need to be more intentional with my time and goals for each week. The thing that I’ve been lacking is intention and purpose with my days.
I’ve been doing lots and lots of stress and emotional eating since Keith left for Korea, especially at night. I really want to work on getting healthier overall and part of that is losing some weight that I’ve put on over the past year. So…I joined Weight Watchers and I’m really excited about that decision. I have done Weight Watchers before and it’s a program that really works for me as long as I stick to it! I’m tracking all of my food and making healthier choices already.
I’m looking forward to church tomorrow…my Saturday evenings are spent ironing everyone’s clothes so Sunday morning getting my four children and myself ready for church goes smooth. It can be a nightmare if this one chore is neglected!

I’ve not tried the Iced Coffee yet. I’m afraid if I do I won’t stop! I look forward to reading more of your homeschooling posts. I really need encouragement in this area. And in bed by 9? That’s fantastic. Most night’s it’s at least midnight for me. Blah! Have a blessed tomorrow!
