Our main objective for today was for Will to participate in the Star Wars Jedi Training at Disneyland.
He is a HUGE Star Wars fan and I knew this would mean the world to him.
After breakfast we headed right over to Tomorrow Land where the training was to take place, took our seats and waited for the show to begin.
When the Jedi Master came out and began picking kids out of the audience to participate in the training, I was just praying that Will would be chosen.
The thing about parenthood that has completely caught me off guard is how much I want something for someone else. I am selfish to the core, but being a parent has taught me the importance of championing for someone else other than myself. I never knew how badly I would want something for another person before.
Today I wanted Will to have this experience so much…and at the end he was finally picked from the crowd to come forward and train to be a Jedi.
After receiving some instructions on being a Jedi and practicing with their light sabers, these miniature Jedis were surprised by visitors…Storm Troopers, Darth Vader and Darth Maul…otherwise known as the bad guys!
One by one, the trainees got to come forward and fight these bad guys.
Will got to go on stage and fight Darth Vader.
Will was victorious over Darth Vader and did not turn to the dark side!
After running all the bad guys off everyone was deemed officially trained Jedis.
With Jedi diploma and all!
Yay, Will!!!! We’re all so proud of you!
It was a highlight of our trip to be able to see my little boy do something so special.
I am sure that this is a memory that Will will treasure and keep with him for many, many years to come.

That’s so exciting! They didn’t do that back when my first born son was younger. He’s 19 now, but I am sure he would love to go back in time and train to be a Jedi!

This was one of our most treasured memories from our trip to Disney World in 2010! There, we had to wait in line, in 96+ degrees from about 8am, until the show time he was assigned, 2pm. Like you, we were willing to do anything to help see his dream come true! Jerry and I took turns staying in line or going to attractions around Hollywood Studios. It was a long, hot wait, but SO WORTH IT. 😉
So glad Disney has been a blast!
Love your guts-
Jenn
