I made these ballerina themed glittered ornaments last weekend as a small gift for my nieces who were dancing in the Nutcracker. It was a highlight of our Holiday season to be able to see them perform!
It’s pretty easy to make a basic glittered ornament. All you need is a glass ornament, extra fine glitter in your choice of color, and Pledge Floor Care with Future Shine. The Pledge Floor Care is available at Wal-mart and some grocery stores. It’s a bit expensive (around $6), but one bottle will make a ton of ornaments!
Follow these steps to make a glittered ornament:
1. Remove the metal top to the ornament.
2. Pour in about a tablespoon bit of Pledge Floor Care in to the ornament and gently swirl it around to cover the inside of your ornament. (be gentle with this step so that you don’t create too many air bubbles)
3. Pour the excess cleaner back into the bottle.
4. Pour a generous amount of glitter into the ornament and shake it good to cover the inside of your ornament with glitter. I hold a small amount of plastic wrap over the opening of the ornament during this step.
5. Pour the extra glitter back into a small bowl.
After I made the glittered ornaments, I used my silhouette to personalize them with ballerina figures and the year with vinyl.
These ornaments would make a fun personalized gift for anyone on your Christmas list this year!
