We got the kids up super early this morning and headed out to the El Paso Balloon Fest.
Because it was so early, we stopped by Dunkin Donuts on our way for breakfast and planned to eat once we got settled in to watch the hot air balloons.
As we were entering the parking area, we noticed a sign that read, “No Doughnuts”.
Seriously??
Because we’re such rule followers, we ate our breakfast before getting out of the car.
As usual after eating, Will’s face was covered in chocolate and sugar. He said, “We better wash my face so they don’t know I had doughnuts!”
Apparently, we’re raising a whole new generation of avid rule followers.
We arrived just as the first balloons were preparing to launch.
It was a beautiful morning with perfect weather.
The wide open spaces and beautiful sky are some of my favorite things about El Paso.
We all had such a great time watching the balloons take off.
Keith and I also enjoyed practicing photography together. We set our cameras on manual and compared notes as we took pictures of the balloons. A photography date is one that we have dreamed about going on, so I think we both really enjoyed this opportunity to play with our cameras together. His pictures are up at dustyfile.com.
This was such a great way to spend the morning together!
