I’m so excited that the approach of Fall is here (even though temps are still in the 90’s in El Paso)!!! In fact, I had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks this week and cherished every sip.
One of my favorite things about Fall is apple picking season! When we’re in a location that makes it possible, we love to take the kids apple picking in the Fall.
This photo was taken on one of our first apple picking trips. I took EA, MC and Will to Carter Mountain in Virginia with some other homeschool friends. Keith stayed at home with Jenny since she was still a baby.
I have never been a mom that is super prepared and this was definitely a time when I could have prepared much better. I didn’t realize that it would be so cold on the mountain where we were going to pick apples. I remember that day being super cold and windy and, of course, my little ones were in short sleeves and we didn’t bring jackets.
Hello mom fail!
We were pretty disappointed with the apples that day, but the view was amazing!! The skies were beautiful and we have a fun day regardless of the lack of apples in the trees.
I gave up trying to find apples in the trees and told the kids they could pick some off the ground. It was much like hunting for hidden Easter eggs for them. MC was disgusted by the ditry apples and Will was picking them up right off the ground and eating them!!! So typical of those two!
