I’m embarking on an exciting journey this month. This is a scrapbooking project that I have admired for several years and wanted to do, but never had the nerve to actually complete. But, this year is my year y’all and I’m so excited about it!
I’m going to be completing a December Daily album throughout this month!
December Daily is a mini-album project that documents the twenty-five days leading up to Christmas. The goal is to capture the spirit of December by telling one story a day.
I love the one story each day concept!
I prepared for this by taking Ali Edwards’ class, “Storytelling with December Daily” and gathering all the supplies I will need to complete my album. I’m using Ali’s main kit along with the mini-kit by Paislee Press.
My plan is to complete this album day-by-day, documenting just one story each day. It doesn’t necessarily have to be that day’s story, but I would like to include as many current stories as possible. I hope to share these pages and stories with you as they are completed.
Last night I got started by prepping the cover of my album and the first few pages.
I kept the cover simple by adding chipboard numbers for the year and a vellum Christmas tree which was included in Paislee Press’s mini-album.
For the inside of the cover I adhered our family’s Christmas card. I love opening the album up to see this so much! Now that I’m looking at it, I think I may go back and add some washi tape.
Next is a transparency sheet that was included in the main kit. It was originally 6×8 sized, as that’s the size most use for these albums, so I just cut it down to 4×6. I did this will all the 6×8 journaling cards that were included in the kits as well.
For this pocket, I included a red and black plaid journaling card with the “joy” rubber shape. Joy is my theme for the month. I want to find joy in what could be a very hard December. I am choosing Joy and this project is going to help me with that choice!
On the other side of that is my “intentions” card. What I love about Ali is her encouragement to think about the “whys” behind our projects. I wrote down the reason why I am embarking on this December Daily journey.
I hand wrote this and I’m not sure about that decision. I’m not the biggest fan of my handwriting, but I’m also trying really hard to embrace it. I do so much of my scrapbooking digitally that I don’t often use my own handwriting in projects. BUT I do think it’s important for history’s sake to do so.
I used “the reason why” that was included as a bonus for taking Ali’s December Daily class. I stamped it in a shimmery gold stamp that I just love!
And that’s it for today! Tonight I’ll put together pages for Day 1 and I’ll share those here tomorrow.

I’m so looking forward to seeing how this comes along! I wasn’t in time to get the kit I wanted (Jasmine Jones), but even so, I think I would have benefitted from doing Ali’s class. My spreads are just so – blah! It is going to be different for you this year Monica, but know that your virtual friends are rooting for you and enjoying what you share 🙂
