So…yesterday morning my neighbor texted to invite me to our post’s Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony and my initial thought *may* have been about how this would be perfect for today’s December Daily page.
My mind was also filled with the memory of the last time I went to a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on post. It was when we were stationed at Baumholder, Germany and Keith was deployed to Iraq.
Keith and I had a conversation a few days ago about how he would like to get us on post for more official ceremonies and events when he comes back and we move to a new location.
On the right side of this spread, I have two 3×4 sized journaling cards. One has the sentiment, “find joy in all things”. This sentiment is one that I am holding on to during this season.
The other journaling card has cute little Christmas trees on a white background. To this journaling card I adhered a chipboard “messy circle” that says hello twinkle. This was included in Ali’s main kit this year.
For the right side I printed out a 4×6 sized photo I took at the ceremony last night. Instead of one big Christmas tree that we were expecting, when the official “lighting” occurred, lights came on all around us…there were lights in all the trees and the chapel across the street was lit up so beautifully!
I typed the journaling directly on the photo in Photoshop, using the font Remington Noiseless in white so that it would show up nicely on a darker background. To this photo, I adhered the chipboard number 2.
I am so happy with how this spread turned out! It embodies the simplicity I love in documenting the story of our days.
