At the beginning of this year I set a goal (through Goodreads) to read 24 books throughout the year. I am an achiever and I get a lot of satisfaction out of meeting goals and I love reading, so combining the two sounded like a great idea!
I chose a number of books to read that would be a challenge, but not too easy to accomplish. Two books a month sounded do-able, yet challenging at the same time. My plan is to raise my goal a little each year.
It is with great excitement that I am announcing that I just finished my 24th book of the year and met my goal for the year!!!
I’ll do a post at the end of the year with a list of all of the books I read this year. I thought it would be fun today to share with you my five favorite places around the internet to find book recommendations.
The PopCast Green Light Books
The PopCast is one of my must-listen-to podcasts each week. At the end of each pocast the hosts, Knox and Jamie, give “red lights” and “green lights”. They have a listing of all of their green lights on their blog, with a category for books.
Jamie Ivey’s Books
Jamie Ivey’s podcast, The Happy Hour, is another must-listen-to for me. She is a huge reader and always asks her guests what they’re reading. She has a list of all of these books set up in an Amazon store.
Mom Advice Reads
This is everything on Mom Advice in the “reads” category, including book reviews, kid books, a book club, writer interviews.
Modern Mrs. Darcy
Y’all there is so much here….all I can say is if you’re a reader and you don’t already know about this blog, you HAVE to check it out!
Goodreads + Amazon
I combined these two because they work together and…why not?? Both of these are great resources for book recommendations based on your own reviews of books and what you’re interested in.
Are you a reader? I would love to hear where you get your book recommendations!
Oh, and if you’re on Goodreads, I would love to be friends!!! You can find me here!
