Happy Friday friends!!!
I’m sitting here on Friday afternoon thrilled that we had a consistent school week and even finished up a little early this afternoon!!
I am excited to share a few (okay…FIVE) randoms from my week with you…
{ONE} She Reads Truth Bible
This should probably be saved for next week, but I’m too excited not to share. I pre-ordered one of the new She Reads Truth Bibles earlier this year and I’ve been anxiously awaiting its arrival. They were back ordered on Amazon, but I got an email yesterday that the Bibles were in stock and mine will be arriving on Monday…yay!!!
I’ve been using the She Reads Truth devotions and app for several years now and I’m so excited to get my hands on this beautiful Bible.
{TWO} American War
I am currently reading American War by Omar El Akkad. It was one of my Book of the Month selections this month and, while it has been a slow read, it has been very thought provoking and enjoyable. The story is set in the future, around year 2075, and it surrounds the events of the second civil war.
{THREE} Slender Kitchen
I recently became a member of Slender Kitchen, a meal planning service. Slender Kitchen provides weekly “healthy eating” meal plans that includes Weight Watchers points!! That’s what I love most about this service. My success with Weight Watchers is heavily dependent on planning. Using Slender Kitchen’s ready made meal plans has made planning a breeze and the meals have been delicious! When Keith called last night I was so excited to tell him about our dinner that I just finished making…Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs. I can’t wait to cook these healthy meals for him when he gets home!
{FOUR} Whoopie Pies
I am finding it ironic that I am going from sharing about a healthy meal planning service to telling you about Whoopie Pies, but that’s how I roll.
After watching the contestants on Food Network’s Spring Baking Challenge make whoopie pies, I decided this was a treat I had to try making myself. EA actually wanted to help out, so last weekend we made these delicious treats together and they were SO GOOD!!! In fact, we’re going to a cook out with friends tomorrow evening and I’m making another batch of whoopie pies to share there. I used this recipe from Woman’s Day.
{FIVE} iNSD Freebie Blog Hop
International Scrapbooking Day (iNSD) is typically celebrated during the first weekend in May…that’s next weekend! This is a day that I can truly get behind!
The Lilypad is beginning their celebrations a little early (this weekend) with a Freebie Blog Hop. Click through the stops on this blog hop get part one of a HUGE collab for free. These free downloads will only be available through May 4. Parts two and three will be in the shop next weekend.
That’s all for now…I hope you have a happy weekend!!!
