Keith has been intentional about spending some one-on-one time with each of our children during his time at home over the last two weeks. Basically, he has taken each of them to lunch at McDonald’s and spent the afternoon with them. To keep things fair he took them in birth order (we do lots of things in birth order around here).
Jenny’s turn was yesterday and she had been so looking forward to this time with Daddy!
After lunch they went to Home Depot to look for some flowers to plant together. Unfortunately, Keith wasn’t able to find exactly what he was looking for.
Fortunately, though, he spotted a Fairy Garden kit before walking out the door. Along with this kit, Jenny picked out two fairies. She found one that she really loved and then that fairy needed a friend.
Jenny came home so excited to put her fairy garden together with Keith!
Keith and Jenny put the fairy garden on a plant stand in our basement. I know the basement sounds like an odd place, but they were worried that neighborhood kids would bother it in the only spot we have for it outside and that would make for a very unhappy Jenny. We do have plans to find a special spot for this when we move to South Carolina this summer.
Jenny spent her afternoon drawing fairy pictures and maps. She also had to write a note to her fairies so they would know what their names are. Because that’s super important!
Jenny woke up this morning to discover green fairy dust all over her garden from her fairies’ play time last night.
She was so excited for that!!!
Jenny is the perfect age for the magic and wonder of fairies and I’m so thankful that she got to build this fairy garden with her daddy this week.

What a priceless afternoon! She’ll be telling her grandchildren about her special fairy garden one day. Adina would’ve loved this, too!
