I had a great Mother’s Day weekend! I hope you did too.
On Saturday I ran another color run with my friend, Katie. I did more of a run/walk and didn’t push myself too hard. It was fun running with someone who’s pretty much on the same level as I am.
We discovered a couple of weeks ago that we’re both doing Weight Watchers. We went to our Weight Watchers meeting together on Saturday morning and then headed over to run in the Color Dash. It was Katie’s first race and it was so fun to share that experience with her.
We grilled steaks on Saturday evening. We had planned to do that on Sunday for Mother’s Day, but our forecast for Sunday was dust…not the best weather for grilling. So we decided to do it on Saturday and it worked out perfectly!
I did make up a casserole before bed on Saturday evening that Keith put in the oven for our dinner on Sunday. So there was no cooking for me on my special day.
Keith went to church with us on Sunday morning for Mother’s Day. With Keith serving in the chapel on post and the rest of us attending a local church, I do miss getting to worship together. It was such a special treat to be able to do that on Mother’s Day.
Since everyone was dressed up and looking really nice for church, I had Keith set up the tripod to get a family picture and I asked him to take a picture of the kids and I together.
These would have been perfect pictures if it were not for the red lipstick on my teeth! Photoshop to the rescue!! 🙂
This sweet kitty was my Mother’s Day present this year. I love her to pieces and she’s a perfect addition to our family.
Being a mother is one of the biggest blessings of my life. I am thankful to celebrate it and my family each year.
