In February of 2014 Keith ran in and completed the El Paso Marathon.
The kids and I were there to cheer him on and were so proud to see him finish this race that he trained so well for.
The thing that was most interesting to me about watching the end of this twenty-six point two mile race is how the runners crossed the finish line.
Some, like Keith, crossed smiling, even if that smile took all they had in them.
Some crossed and immediately fainted.
Some crossed and immediately began vomiting.
And others stumbled across the finish line.
Running that hard, long race took everything these athletes had. They ran with endurance, but were exhausted physically and emotionally upon crossing the finish line.
This past year has been a hard, long marathon for our family and we’re nearing the end of it.
But as we’re approaching the finish line, we’re exhausted. We’ve given it all we’ve got and we may be running on empty when this marathon ends.
Keith and two of the children are sick right now…I’m sure others may follow. And we’re all just plain ol’ tired.
So many of you have cheered us on in this race. You’ve been our supporters along the way and for that I thank you!
Right now I am just asking that you would continue supporting us through praying that we will finish this marathon well.

Kelley Freeman says
Praying for your family to finish this long, hard marathon. I’ve am doing the First 5 Covenant study right now, and we just finished Ruth. What a story to remind me of the need to lean in to God and His promises in the long wait. Praying that the blessings God has promised you will abundantly flow to you and your family.
