Happy Mama nominated me for a new award, the Perfect Blend of Friendship Award.
Thank you, Happy Mama!!
She is always so encouraging with her comments here. We have found that we have a lot in common through our blogs. She is the mom to three small children and is a wonderful minister’s wife.
Along with the award, I am to answer some questions and nominate my own friends.
1. Do you have the same friends since childhood?
Unfortunately, no, I don’t have the same friends since childhood. One of my biggest life regrets is that I have not maintained long term friendships. This is something that I am trying to actively work on, especially since the Army lifestyle requires a lot of moving. I think social media like blogging, Twitter, and Facebook are wonderful assets for keeping in touch with friends. Okay, I don’t know that “blogging” is considered social media, but it is a wonderful way to keep in touch with friends. Through Facebook, I have recently began to correspond with some friends from my childhood and it has been so much fun to get to know them again.
2. What do you value most about your friends?
The first thing that comes to mind is honesty and acceptance. I value that my friends are people that I can be real with and who are real with me.
3. Are your friends your sounding boards?
My best friend, my husband, is my biggest sounding board. Even though he’s deployed, technology allows us to communicate pretty well and we’re able to still support and encourage one another.
4. What is your favorite activity to share with your friends?
This blog, of course! I also love to share my digital scrapbooking. And an important element in my friendships is my faith. I pray that in all of life my relationship with Christ is being lived out as an example and encouragement to others, especially my friends.
Now, I would like to nominate all of you, my friends, for this award. If you have a blog of your own, please feel free to pick this up and answer the friendship questions. If you do, please share let me know in the comments. And if you don’t have a blog, I would still love to read the answers to your questions in the comments.
