For a belated birthday gift for my daughters’ 9th birthday my friend Jenn helped them make quilts for their American Girl dolls.
They spent the day with her quilting away while I had some one on two time with Will and Jenny.
I was so appreciative that Jenn kept me updates with pictures of the girls’ progress throughout the day.
She said that the girls did most of the sewing after giving them a quick lesson.
Then after Keith got home from work Friday evening, I went over to Jenn’s house to finish off the day with a girl’s night.
We ate pizza and the girls played Wii games while Jenn and I finished their quilts off by adding the backing and binding. Okay…let’s be honest here, Jenn did most of that work and showed me how it’s done.
EA and MC were thrilled with their finished quilts!
We finished off the evening with apple pie which the girls helped bake and manicures for the birthday girls!
These two girls of mine are going to treasure the memory of making their first quilts. They were rock stars with the sewing machine and we’re already dreaming of more projects for the future!
