I’ve had a really excellent week of scrapbooking! Once again I’m participating in the Month of Challenges at The Lilypad. For the entire month of January, there is a new challenge posted each day to participate in. I’m thrilled to announce that except for a layout for today, I am totally caught up with these challenges. I’ve also had some wonderful kits to work with for my creative teams this week!
Made for Each Other
This layout was for the Clean and Simple challenge. I am really a clean and simple scrapbooker at heart, so this challenge was one of my favorites.!
Truly Dear
This layout was for a photo treatment challenge. I used an action by My Four Hens on the photo of Jenny and I love the light and soft feel it gave to this sweet picture of her and Cupcake.
Clean and Fresh
This was for the All About challenge were we were to journal all about someone or something. I chose to write all about Will doing the laundry on his own to earn some time playing Skylanders on the WiiU.
2014 Year in Review
I had so much fun putting this collage layout together!!
Year in Review was a new release by Just Jaimee for this weekend. It is actually a collab that she and Mommyish gave the pieces to away during the month of December. This collage template was one of those freebies. I put in some highlights from each month of the past year.
Cozy
I put this together for the scrap therapy challenge. It was good to have some “therapy” time writing about how I really dislike winter and winter colds which I have been suffering from this week. I loved adding the fun elements on the page. I also blended several papers together for the background paper on this and I loved how it turned out.
Fun Times
I have to admit that this is one of my most favorite layouts ever! I made this for the out of bounds challenge. Do you see how Jenny’s arm and pencil are coming out of the frame here? I’ve seen this technique on layouts before and I’ve always admired them so much!!! After watching a tutorial from scrapper-extraordinaire, Anne of Alamo, I gave it a shot and I love the result! Another thing I really like about this layout is all the paper layers…I love adding lots and lots of layers on my layouts.
Read a Book
I am on the creative team for Amanda Yi Designs as a pocket scrapper. This was made with her new kit, Recharge. I saw the “read a book” element in there and knew exactly where I wanted to go with this layout. I found several photos of EA reading (which were NOT hard to find) and put them together in this layout with lots of journal cards.
Shine Bright
This layout was for the combine two templates challenge. I love this technique….it’s a great way to really extend the life of templates, but I don’t remember to use it very often. So, I was very thankful for the challenge for that reason.
Here are the two templates that I combined for this layout:
I love the layered paper-y look of both of these templates…they were great to work with!
Here are the digital scrapbook supplies to create the layouts I shared today:
Whew! That’s a lot of scrapping, but I love it so much!!
I have a post coming on Monday that will talk a little about one way that I made time for this creative hobby in my busy schedule as a homeschooling mom.
Are you a scrapbooker? Do you have creative hobbies that make your heart sing?
I would love for you to share a link to something creative you’ve made this week in the comments!
