I added a new task to my household duties as a stay at home mom this week….
rescuing a beautiful princess from a big, scary spider.
She was a beautiful princess…
but, really, he wasn’t the biggest, scariest spider ever.
But I wouldn’t call him “itsy, bitsy spider” either!
And all of you animal lovers out there will be happy to note that I opted for taking him outside the back door rather than killing him or flushing him down the toilet.
The princess would have none of that!

I love that you have a back door to take spiders outside through!
And no, that’s not an itsy, bitsy spider; but she is a beautiful princess!

There are no itsy-bitsy spiders here….even the nearly microsopic ones are GIANT MONSTERS that must be done away with! I can usually tell from the girls, depending on the type of scream and the urgency of the demand to get there quick, what I will be facing. Truthfully, any kind of bugs give me the “willies”. Since I also consider myself a princess, I love it when my knight-in-shining- armor is home to handle these situations!

Now if that was my hubby, he would have been screaming like a girl! He hates spiders and I have to go do something about them. 🙂 I have to confess though, he would have made me kill it. There was no saving it so it could possibly return.

My son calls them Mr. Skinny Legs, instead of Daddy Long Legs. When he sees one he shouts “Spider!” He shouts it with excitement. I always come running, though. We have found 2 brown recluses and a black widow in the house or on the front porch. I take no chances. I agree with Sidnie, that is one beautiful princess!!

She is a beautiful princess! I am impressed. I would probably have gone with squishing with a tissue or a shoe myself!
Susan (5 Minutes for Mom) says
Eeeeek…. I HATE spiders.
I’m sorry, but any spider that enters my domain risks his life.
