After having a full weekend with the kids I have decided to bring back “the weekend lens” on Sunday evenings. Hopefully, this will encourage me to take advantage of our weekends to do more than just sit around our house being miserable.
The winter season is so hard for me! But, spring is close and I want to be intentional about enjoying it!!
This weekend we went with friends to the West Bottoms area of Kansas City to some really fun antique shops. Actually, the older two girls and I did that while Will and Jenny had playdates with my friends’ kids. We had the best time!!
Unfortunately, the weekend ended with sick kiddos. Jenny woke up with a fever this morning and by the end of the day both MC and Will were both sick with fevers, too.
Hopefully, they’ll all recover quickly!
Here’s a glimpse at our weekend through the lens of my camera (i.e. phone)…
Before beginning our day of shopping, we fueled up on coffee at Blimp.
This was taken at one of our favorite shops during the day, The Painted Sofa. The displays there were stunning! We could have spent the entire day in this one shop.
I adore the lettering on this, especially against the brick wall.
Okay, I saw this “at sign” on display instantly loved it! Looking back at it now, I really wish I had brought it home with me! I’m kind of over the ampersand trend and think this should be the new thing…who’s in with me?
This was banner was hanging in the third floor of the last store we visited and I just had to get a photo of it. It’s a banner for a drive-in where there was a meet and greet for Vice President and Mrs. Nixon. How cool is that??
We ate lunch at a French crepe restaurant named Chezelle Creperie.
As you can see, the crepes were beautiful and they tasted even better than they looked! I had the “Patriote” with strawberries, blueberries and bananas topped with crème Anglaise, whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Yum!!!! It was totally worth a little Weight Watchers splurge!
Poor Jenny has felt so bad all day! She’s so pitiful when she’s sick!! We’ve had lots of cuddles today.
EA and I took a watercolor class on Skillshare today. We learned to draw pastries and color them with watercolor techniques. It was a lot of fun to do this with her!! And I’m pretty happy with my croissant, too!
I also drew and water colored these cookies. I think Cupcake is ready to take a bite!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend full of being with the ones you love the most!!

I’ve always enjoyed your Weekend Lens posts. I hope Jenny feels better soon! I believe I love that “at” symbol, and those crepes! Have a blessed week.

Looks like such a fun weekend, Monica! We missed you in church Sunday. The ickies are making their rounds. I’m still not out of the woods myself, but Ezekiel is on the up ‘n up. ‘Tis the season once again. Hope Jenny gets to feeling better soon. Oh, and I’m not big on the @ sign; but I never got into the ampersand, either. Trends are so fickle ;).
