It has been a full week since I’ve written.
It has been a week full of enjoying time with my parents here.
It has been a week of soaking up time.
It has been a week of savoring and cherishing.
It has been a week of treasuring so many moments inside my heart.
It has been a week of exploring.
It has been a week of indulging in favorite Kansas City foods.
My parents left to return home to South Carolina yesterday morning.
Our home feels a little bit emptier now.
We’re comforted in knowing that this is another milestone that marks the growing nearness of Keith’s return home to us.
Yesterday was filled with errands such as grocery shopping for the upcoming week and chores like laundry. There’s always laundry. It never ends.
Yesterday afternoon Will was allowed some time to play video games (he hadn’t played all week) while the girls went to fly kites with our neighbors.
Sunday…today…was full of my favorite things.
Sunday morning was church, fellowship and worship. It fills my soul for the week ahead.
Sunday afternoon was visiting with friends and planning for the week. Lesson plans were written out and assignment sheets were filled in for a solid week of homeschool. All the important things were noted in my calendar.
Sunday evening was AWANA for the kids and enjoying salad and bread at Panera while I soaked up the words and images of inspirational favorite magazines for me.
There was also Freddy’s burgers and fries for the kiddos after AWANA.
This evening my heart and mind is still dwelling on this morning’s sermon at church.
Here’s just a few thoughts I’m dwelling on…
God has not made us to survive, but to thrive!
Be careful who is influencing your life.
We are to separate ourselves NOT isolate ourselves.
What voices are influencing my life?
Delighting in God’s Word begins with delight, not discipline.
Reasons we delight in the Word: (1) it restores our soul, (2) it instructs us, and (3) it protects us.
Biblical meditation is filling your mind with the Word of God. It’s not an emptying of the mind.
Am I happy…do I have true joy and peace? (yes, I do!)
Blessed is the man who walks
not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he mediates day and night.
Psalm 1:1-2
I miss coming to this space to write, ponder, and dwell. I miss sharing my life here authentically and vulnerably.
I’m feeling a calling back and I’m so thankful to all of you for reading my words.

I love your weekend lens because I get to know more about your life, what you do, what you enjoy. Thankful your parents were able to come for a visit. Looks like you had a blessed and full week!
