As I am heading to bed tonight, I realize that there are two things that I try to do each night before going to bed.
These two things allow me to have an easier morning.
They are essentials in my bedtime routine.
These two essentials are:
1. Set the coffeemaker
and
2. Empty dishwasher
I am an early riser, usually up around 5 am in the mornings. I know, it’s crazy, but how early I’m up is a great determiner of how my day will go. The closer to 5 I’m up, the better my day will be. The further away I get from that target time, the worse my day will be. I need to have quiet time before my children wake up and they are usually awake early themselves. Also, it is a necessity to get a shower before or very shortly after they are awake as well.
Having the coffeemaker set up so that all I have to do upon waking is hit one little button makes things go just a little bit smoother.
And I just love not having to empty the dishwasher before I start putting breakfast dishes into it. Taking the time to do this little chore at night saves precious time in my mornings!
Do you have essentials that you try to accomplish before heading to bed each night?

Oh, this is a big one for me. Lets see: set the coffeemaker, set out my running clothes, sign Jackson’s daily behavior log and make sure I have all his stuff together, find jackets etc. (if it is cold), pack up my laptop and any other work stuff I brought home, and probably more stuff I can’t think of right now. You are so right. The morning will make or break your day.
