Our new home has some wonderful built-ins around the fireplace and TV area. I am using the large mantle area to display my collection of Willow Tree figurines. But there is a small mantle (I guess that’s what it’s called) to the left of the large mantle that I knew I wanted to decorate seasonally.
Here’s a quick look at how I have our built-ins arranged. I am displaying my collection of Willow Trees above the television area in the middle and the area above the fireplace is for decorating seasonally. I am using some of the smaller areas to display my scrapbook albums and individual pages. The other areas are for some wooden signs and other figurines.
I am so excited about how my first Valentine’s Day Mantle turned out!!!
I kept it simple with a homemade banner, a love sign, a framed photo of my husband and I, and a white candle pillar with a ribbon tied around it.
I used my silhouette to create the “Be Mine” banner with the Be Mine and Love Banner which was offered as a free shape several weeks ago.
My girls were so excited about my decorated mantle that they have asked me to make a banner for their room for Valentine’s Day. I think that’s what they may wake up to on Valentine’s Day morning. But, shhhh…that’s our secret for now!
This post is a part of a super fun group posting event called The Silhouette Challenge, started by the lovely and creative Lauren of The Thinking Closet. Each month we’ll be posting a different project we made using our Silhouette cutting machine. This month I am joining four other bloggers in sharing our projects. Check out their lovely creations below!

Aw! Thanks for the kind words, Monica. I’m so very glad you joined us this month. I absolutely love how your banner turned out. It works so well with the other items on your seasonal mantle. And how wonderful that you have a mantle devoted solely to seasonal decor. That’s something I hope for when we buy a home some day. Just lovely!
