I have the best news to share today…Keith is home!!!
It has been the longest year ever, but yesterday was the longest day of the year. We had to wait until late last night to meet Keith at the airport.
I remember seeing a meme on Pinterest or Facebook about pregnancy…”each month has an average of 30-31 days…except the last month of pregnancy which has 1453 days”. The same can be applied to a deployment! And forget about days in a month…the last day feels like it has that many hours!
During the day I worked on lots of preparations…I baked, I cleaned and I wrapped presents.
The kids worked on posters to take to the airport.
They all also took naps yesterday afternoon so they would have the stamina to stay up late…way past their normal bedtime.
Poor Jenny was barely hanging in there just minutes before Keith’s flight arrived!
Having four kids at the airport holding “welcome home Daddy signs” sure does attract a lot of attention! Everyone around us was so encouraging and excited for us.
One young man even offered to video our reunion for me and I was thrilled to accept his offer. Here is the video of Keith coming through the gate and us welcoming him home with hugs and kisses!
I love reliving this moment…it is one that I will remember forever!
Our family is now complete again!!!
Today was filled with celebrating our anniversary, Keith’s birthday, and Father’s Day…all holidays that took place within the last month.
And tomorrow we begin final preparations for our PCS to Ft. Bliss in El Paso.
We’ll go through our to-do list and begin packing suitcases and all the things that won’t be packed. Our packers arrive on Monday morning and we’ll leave Kansas one week from today.
Whew!!! What a crazy, full life we live, but now that Keith is home with us, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
