Will had to have a physical on Tuesday so I could register him with Child and Youth Services here. He has come so far since his last well baby visit just a month ago.
He weighed 16 lbs (50th %ile) and was 26.5 inches long (75 %ile)! He only weighed 13 lbs a month ago, but I think the scales were a little bit off. Over the last month I have started giving him some solid foods. Right now he eats cereal in the morning and baby food at night. So far he has had sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, and tonight he tried squash for the first time. His favorite is sweet potatoes and he absolutely HATES peas! He is also still nursing every two to three hours during the day.
His daytime sleeping has gotten so much better lately. Just a month ago, he was hardly napping at all and he fought sleep so hard! (Thankfully, nighttime sleep has never been a huge problem with him.) Now, he usually takes two regular naps, in the morning and afternoon. They vary in length from one to two hours. Last week he put himself to sleep without being rocked for the very first time! Now, I did have to sneak in behind him so he couldn’t see me and slip his paci in his mouth in order for that to happen, but it is definitely progress.
He sits up great with just a little bit of support, he wants to sit so bad he can’t stand it. He is constantly doing mini-sit-ups whenever he is laying on his back! He has started to enjoy tummy time much more as well. Today he was rolling quite a bit and he has started to scoot just a little bit on his tummy.
He learned to blow raspberries two days ago (this is one of my absolute favorite baby tricks) and laughs all the time!! He is such a joy and I thank God for such a precious baby.
Psalm 139:13-14 “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous–and how well I know it.”
