It is so humbling to stop and think about what Christ our Savior has done for us.
Christ, the Son of God, came down to earth from heaven and took human form. In doing so, He did not come to be served. Oh, He deserved to be served…He deserved to be worshiped and adored and served.
But that’s not what he did.
He came to serve.
He served His own creation.
He served His disciples.
He served the sick.
He served the needy.
He served His friends…and His enemies.
He served sinners like you and me.
Not only did he serve while he was here on earth, but that is the very reason that He came.
He came to serve…to give his life willingly so that we may have life.
He gave his life as a ransom for many.
He suffered a brutal, painful death, handing over his very life and taking my sin upon Him so that I may receive forgiveness and life.
This is the verse of scripture that my heart and mind are dwelling on this week. I’m meditating on these words and committing them to memory.
And I’m inviting you to join me!
In order to keep this verse before me, I’m printing it out on post-it note photo paper and placing it on my refrigerator.
You can download a 4×6 or 81/2 x 11 print and place it in a place where you’ll see it often.
