We’re on our way to South Carolina to visit our families.
It’s a much needed visit as we’ve been away for about a year and a half now.
We started out super early this morning and traveled from El Paso to Dallas, Texas today. That’s a LONG twelve hours of driving.
All in all, it went very well and we’re looking forward to visiting our friends in Jackson, MS tomorrow.
I’m going to attempt to document our travel as a way to get back into a regular pattern of blogging.
Every trip we make has to include at least one stop at McDonald’s. My husband usually documents his McDonald’s visits on Instagram. It’s a fun thing he enjoys. Here’s the selfie he took with EA at our lunch stop today.
Will spent his time in the car alternating between watching movies with Jenny and reading. He is really enjoying reading the Hardy Boys series. As a homeschool mom, there’s nothing better than to see my little boy reading, but not just reading, enjoying reading! Sometimes I just marvel at knowing that I taught him to do that…I taught him how to read. What a blessing!
Jenny has never been the best traveler. She’s just too busy to sit for hours on end in a car. But, I do have to say, that she has been much better on this trip.
Along with movies, she has spent her time drawing pictures.
She says, “Look, Mommy…oh, you like my picture!”
And when all else fails, a lollipop always puts a smile on this little girls face!
The kids all have their favorite stuffed animal they like to travel with. They’re all pictured here except for Will’s Yoda.
Right now, we’re all getting settled in for bed so that we get another early start tomorrow morning.
Do you have any travel plans for the summer?
