The best thing about today’s travel to SC was visit from friends in Jackson, MS.
I was so excited to be able to visit with Shanna again on this trip back east.
Before driving into Mississippi, we did stop to visit the welcome center right after driving over the Mississippi River.
After stretching our legs at the welcome center and asking a stranger to take a family picture in front of the Mississippi River, it was on to Shanna’s house for the afternoon/evening.
Shanna is my best friend and our twin girls have become great friends as well as they have corresponded through pen pal letters.
I am so thankful for the friendship I share with Shanna. We first connected through the TWINS Magazine message board as mothers of twins with a lot in common and through the years our friendship has come to mean the world to me.
Shanna has been there for me through all of Keith’s deployments and our many moves with the Army.
She is the most loyal, trustworthy person I know. She has helped me learn how to be a friend. And she has taught me much about forgiveness and transparency.
I love that our girls are growing up together.
I love that she can relate so well with everything I may be going through with my girls and she is there to hold my hand through the tough moments of parenting.
God knew what He was doing when He brought Shanna and I together as friends almost nine years ago.
He was doing an amazing work and blessing my life in an incredible way.
This was a great break for everyone from the long and tiring drive across the country.
Everyone was able to relax and have fun.
The kids, especially needed this time to run around and have fun!
And they were able to play in lush, green grass.
GREEN GRASS!!!
I didn’t know how much I missed green grass until we were in the land of it today!
We ended the day completely exhausted, but with full and happy hearts after spending a wonderful, blessed day with friends.
The kids are all looking forward to seeing Grandma and Grandpa tomorrow after a good night’s sleep and another full day of driving.
