May 2007 was an incredibly exciting month for our family as we were anxiously waiting for Will’s arrival and then as he became a part of our family!
Elizabeth Anne and Mary Catherine had their first tastes of a popcicle on a hot day in the middle of May. It was even purchased from a REAL ice cream truck. We were inside when I heard the music playing and got so excited. See, I grew up in the COUNTRY…way too remote to hear the sound of an ice cream truck or to experience that childhood treat. I couldn’t let my girls miss that opportunity, so we went out and purchased popcicles for them, and of course Keith and I got our own treat, too! The girls got so incredibly messy on our pourch from their popcicles that they had to be carried in straight to the bathtub and Keith had to hose down the porch!!
It has become a tradition in our family to Build-a-Bear for our babies. Keith and I made one for each of the girls before they came home from the NICU. We took Elizabeth Anne and Mary Catherine to the mall at Opry Mills in Nasheville to help make Will’s bear. Just last week, Mary Catherine was remembering that trip.
By my 39th week of pregnancy, I was beginning to experience early labor. I was so ready to have the baby that I would do anything to get it started. On the morning before my 39th week appointment, Keith and I took Elizabeth Anne and Mary Catherine on a hike at Dunbar Cave in Clarksville, KY. We had a great time with the girls and did lots and lots of walking. I even had to carry Elizabeth Anne for a good portion of our walk.
Two days after that hike, William Daniel Andrews was born!!! He weighed in at a whooping 9 lbs. 3 oz and measured exactly 20 inches long. He has been such a blessing to our family!
