Happy Friday friends!!!
I’m so excited for this weekend to relax and chill with my favorite people! Here’s a little of what I’ve been up to this week…
//ONE// I completed and graduated from the Spouse’s Leadership Development Course at the NCO Leadership Center of Excellence and U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy (whew…that’s a lot of words!) this week. I enjoyed taking this class so much, even though the late nights almost did me in! It ran from 5-10 pm for eight nights, and that is way past my bedtime!! I learned so much about leadership, Army services and resources, and the role of Senior Spouses. And I met some amazing women that joined me in the class. Six of my classmates were spouses of international students, chosen to represent their countries at the Sergeants Major Academy.
//TWO// I have been listening to Stay with Me by Ayogami Adebayo. I’m just in chapter 4, but I can already tell that this is going to be an enthralling story. I’m thankful that I chose to listen to it on Audible because it is set in Nigeria and there are lots of hard to pronounce words and names that I would destroy if left to my own devices.
//THREE// I know it’s just four days in, but the 100 Day Project is going really well!!! Today I even tried my hand at paper scrapbooking in a Traveler’s Notebook. This was a first for me and while I’m not completely happy with what I created, I am thankful to have tried something new that I’ve been wanting to try for so long. This was one of my goals for the project. I plan to keep trying these traveler’s notebook spreads…one a week is my goal right now.
//FOUR// Grilled pizza is on the menu for tonight and I cannot wait!!! We tried this for the first time a couple of weeks ago and LOVED it!! We are using Naan bread for the crust and tonight our toppings will be ham and pineapple for a Hawaiian pizza.
//FIVE// I’m still reading Sourdough by Robin Sloan and hoping to finish it this weekend. It has been a slower read for me because it is so different from most of the books I gravitate towards. I am enjoying it, though and thinking about some of the themes. One thing that I’m really grasping on to from this book is how doing the thing that you love can really change your life for the better.
That’s it for today, friends. I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!
