Having a plan for our time in God’s Word is helpful in maintaining a consistent time of study and prayer. Over the years I have used various forms of study tools and Bible reading plans. I thought for this week’s Works for Me Wednesday, I would share the plan that I am currently using and a new helpful tool I have found to aid in times of worship and prayer.
I have been using a 52 Week Bible Reading Plan from BibleReading.com for over a year now. I really like the way this plan breaks down daily readings into different sections. For example…
on Sunday, the readings are from the Epistles
on Monday, the readings are from the books of the Law
on Tuesday, the readings are from the books of History
on Wednesay, the readings are from the Psalms
on Thursday, the readings are from the books of Poetry
on Friday, the readings are from the books of Prophecy
and on Saturday, the readings are from the Gospels
Each day’s readings contain a few chapters, not too much to read during the morning’s quiet time.
As I read I try to mediatate on a specific scripture for the day. Sometimes I commit it to memory and repeat it as I go throughout the day.
I have recently discovered a help in meditating on the Psalms. OurPrayer has launched a new addition to their site, ePsalms. These psalms of praise are videos containing inspiring images set to quiet, worshipful music that will encourage and uplife your spirit as you meditate. You can also send these to friends, family, or other loved ones who are in need of uplifting as well.
I would encourage you to visit OurPrayer and watch an ePsalm for yourself.
And also make sure you visit Works for Me Wednesday at We Are THAT Family for many more tips.
