I feel as if I have been pregnant for the last five, no six years. And it has taken a toll on my body.
So, with my husband’s help and support, I’m going to get back in shape.
Now that I’m six weeks out from giving birth and have been cleared from exercise it’s time to get to work!
I started going to the gym a few weeks ago for small walks on the treadmill.
I’ve been working up to going longer and slowly increasing the intensity.
My husband helped me to come up with a plan so that we can both get our workouts in without putting the kids in childcare.
I’m going to get up and out the door to the YMCA where we have a family membership on Tuesday and Thursday mornings right after Jenny’s first feeding of the day.
He’s going to work out on Monday and Wednesday mornings.
This leaves Friday and Saturday mornings free for either or both of us to get a workout in.
I’m also planning to join Weight Watchers on Saturday morning. I’ll be following their flex plan for breastfeeding mothers and attending weekly meetings.
I became a lifetime member of Weight Watchers before I became pregnant with the girls and it is my goal to eventually get back to that weight. But I know it will have to come in baby steps.
I’m looking forward to moving forward with my exercise and diet plans to gain my body back and feel good about myself.

Congratulations! It sounds like a well-laid plan!

I too am at that 6 week point… I have my check up tomorrow… and then I too need to join you on the treadmill and on watching my diet. I said I was going to start last week, then this week… but once I get back from the dr… there is no more putting it off, I gotta get back in shape.
We can do it!!! Let’s cheer each other on. 🙂

Lucky you to have a DH that’s stepping in to help you. Wish mine would recognize my desperate need for a work out break…. or any break for that matter LOL. I was a WW life timer too… before kids. Hope someday to get back there as well though I don’t think I’ll ever see that weight or size again. Perhaps I can use your motivation as a jumping point for me. Thanks for this post.
