My favorite cookbooks are those that some from church of community fundraisers.
The kind where all the ladies contribute their recipe and they’re all compiled into one book.
You can find such great recipes in these books…anything from treasures handed down from generations to just good ‘ol basic recipes that everyone needs to have within arms reach.
So, yesterday I was thrilled when my husband came home from work with this….
The Ft. Lee Officers’ and Civilians’ Spouses’ Club cookbook!!!
I cannot wait to see what delicious treasures I’ll find within these pages!

I totally agree!
I have several “nice” cookbooks (BH&G, Betty Crocker, etc) and they’re all fine and good. But the best ones are BY FAR church cook books.
I’m in the South and little old church ladies really know how to cook here.
Those cookbooks are such little treasures!

Could not agree more. My favorites out of these are brunch casseroles. I don’t know why, but I can’t find good ones anywhere else.

Wow, that’s a historical treasure! When we lived in the South, we would get those church cook books and they always had something yummy in them.
